To you they're a worship band, to us - they're just part of the family

Ever wondered what the Hillsong UNITED band members do when they’re not playing together as a band, making a justice documentary or travelling the globe? Well, they are key members within the life and team of Hillsong Church.

Take JD for example.  He oversees the Hillsong Youth worship teams, did you know that we have over 3000 youth at services on any given week across our local church campuses?  Then there’s Joel, Creative Director of Hillsong Church; and Jad, who oversees a team of 500+ volunteers and make services happen every weekend across church life.  From the lighting guy to the drummer, each member of our team are passionate about the local church, and when they are not ‘out there’ visiting you, they are HOME, serving alongside countless other volunteers who make Hillsong Church happen.  “We started in the local church and we end in the local church” says frontman JD, (also a key worship leader on the annual Hillsong Church Albums ‘Hillsong LIVE’).

Hillsong LIVE is the annual album from Hillsong Church that captures the heart and soul of what God is doing locally within the church.  It sees all key worship leaders from Hillsong - Darlene Zschech, Reuben Morgan and Hillsong UNITED’s Jad Gillies and Joel Houston + many others from the Hillsong Church Team - come together with our entire church congregation in worship and praise. 

The latest release of Hillsong LIVE comes out this July, titled ‘A Beautiful Exchange’.  “A Beautiful Exchange’ is about the exchange of the the cross, for our sins - His life, for our freedom. This album is the collective expression of a unified church, worshipping their magnificent Saviour; a beautiful exchange on so many levels.  Released globally July 2010, this album will exceed expectations and we pray it will bless the local church everywhere.
